Dr. Guidotti is a medical doctor, licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and California, and registered in the province of Ontario. His clinical medical practice is primarily undertaken in support of his consulting and contract activities, and in the evaluation of complex or specialized cases. (Most of these involve occupational diseases, lung conditions, or toxicological cases.)
When consulted as an expert in legal actions, workers’ compensation claims, or other medicolegal services, Dr. Guidotti’s usual practice, especially for complicated cases, is to perform a “merit review” to determine whether the evidence supports the legal argument. Merit review may be part of services covered by a retainer or may be billed separately.
Dr. Guidotti has extensive experience in expert services in support of litigation. His track record is approximately 66% work for plaintiff’s counsel and 33% work for defense.
He was co-editor of and an author of several chapters in the 2001 book Science on the Witness Stand: Evaluation of Scientific Evidence in Law, Adjudication and Policy (OEM Press; see www.oempress.com)
